Jay Lopez

Instructor


Jay Lopez has been training Jiu-Jitsu since 2008.  He has been training under Professor Marco Moreno at Mastery Jiu-Jitsu Leesburg, Virginia since 2014 and currently holds the rank of 4 stripe Brown Belt.

In 2018 Jay completed the process to become a certified Jiu-Jitsu instructor.

Jay is also a military combat veteran completing tours in Southwest Asia.  Upon being honorably discharged from the military, Jay completed his Bachelor’s in Education at New Mexico State University and began teaching Middle School level students at various schools in New Mexico.

Presently Jay works for the Federal Government where he is also actively involved in instruction in defensive tactics, firearms, active threat response, physical fitness, and tactical medicine.

Jay has made it part of his lifestyle to embrace the gentle art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu through countless hours of training, instruction, and development under Professor Marco Moreno, and Grandmaster Relson Gracie.

To this day, Jay has been active in spreading Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to all people hoping to fulfill their self-defense goals.
